INTRODUCING our first-in-a-while industry-focused TAP-NY dinner series! Our dinner series are a great way to enjoy a good meal with a fun group of people, including two TAP board members, to learn more about our organization and what events we have coming up, this time with a focus on a specific industry!

Our first industry rotation is Finance, led by Alvin and Jasper. Alvin is an Investment Analyst at Highbridge Fund, a New York-based hedge fund. Jasper is a Data Engineer within the alternative data research group at Point72 Asset Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund with ~$28B AUM.

About Alvin and Jasper

Alvin was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland and studied economics at Yale University. He currently works as a research analyst at a hedge fund and focuses on the healthcare industry. In his free time, Alvin enjoys playing percussion, working out, and eating food.

Jasper was born and raised in the Bay Area in California and did his undergrad and masters in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he moved to New York City and currently works as an engineer at a hedge fund. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, following the latest Mando-pop/rap/R&B, and co-founding Lunar Accel (lunaraccel.org), a nonprofit career accelerator for Asian Americans.

Registering for the Event

Because of heavy demand for dinner series, we have a lottery process for sign-ups:

Sign-ups for the October Industry Dinner Series will close Sunday, October 8th, at 11:59 pm ET, after which attendees will be selected. Replying to our confirmation email, should you receive it, is required to attend.

Note: While registration for the event is free, individuals are responsible for covering their own meal. TAP facilitates these dinners to help members get to know each other in an intimate setting.

COVID-19 Policy

We are requiring that all attendees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (i.e., 2 weeks after second dose in a 2-dose series or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine). We will check for proof of vaccination (Excelsior Pass, COVID-19 vaccination card, NYC COVID Safe App, NYC Vaccination Record, or photo of COVID-19 vaccination card) at the event and will refuse entry if you do not comply with this requirement.

TAP-NY creates events for everyone to feel welcome. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, unwanted touch, and discrimination. If someone is making you uncomfortable, please let a TAP-NY board member know.
