TAP-NY Hunters Point Parks Gardening Day
June 17, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Join TAP-NY as we partner with Hunters Point Parks Conservancy and New York City Parks for a small-group volunteer gardening day in Hunter’s Point South Park in Long Island City!
The gardens in Hunter’s Point South Park and Gantry Plaza State Park are home to numerous native plant species that create a sustainable ecosystem and promote the ecological well-being of the waterfront. Gardening and volunteering in one of the city’s most scenic waterfront parks provides an enjoyable distraction from the stresses of daily city-living.
Gardening tasks will include pruning to weeding to picking up litter. Please bring your own pair of gloves if you have one. You should also bring your own water bottle, wear comfortable clothing, and closed toed shoes. Other gardening tools and equipment that are necessary for the activity will be provided.
Enjoy this fun way to give back to Hunters Point Parks Conservancy with other TAP-NY members while promoting volunteerism and environmental stewardship.
