Dear TAP-NY Family,
Happy New Year!
As we look back on 2021, we want to thank you for your continued support and engagement. This past year, we were excited to see a surge in new members as we transitioned back to in-person events and packed the year with lifelong memories. With your help, we have continued to be one of the largest Asian-interest community groups in the greater NYC area, now with over 7,500 members and countless events.
At our core, TAP-NY exists to foster and bolster our Taiwanese American community, while remaining open to all regardless of background. This upcoming year, we’re excited to continue to bring our community together through diverse events and exciting new initiatives:
Sharing the Taiwanese culture and supporting the Taiwanese community are at the base of our founding. This year, we are excited to re-introduce ‘Spotlights.’ Throughout the year, we will be featuring businesses to spread awareness of the ever-growing Asian American community to our members. The idea here is to showcase the stories and origin of the businesses as we conduct deep-dive interviews with the business owners.
As for what events to look forward to in the new year, we have several in the pipeline! To kick things off, we have our January Dinner Series and Virtual Trivia Night coming up. To keep up to date with our upcoming events and announcements, be sure to follow our social media (Instagram and Facebook). Look out for our ‘Meet the Board’ series that will be launching on instagram stories in the coming weeks, as well as a special Lunar New Year instagram post featuring our board and their favorite LNY memories.
TAP-NY continues to build upon our values of community building, openness and friendliness, and cultural and social relevance. This year we’re excited to welcome three new board members, and we invite you to read more about them here.
As always, we would love to hear from you – feel free to drop us an email or come say hi at an event!
Cheers,
Kelly, Rachel, and Connie
