Which team will be the first to cross the finish line? Part competition and part team-building, The Amazing TAP Race: NY Edition will have you racing through the streets of New York at a pace you’ve never run at before! We’ve compiled a series of clues and hilarious tasks across the city that will challenge your group’s intellect, teamwork, and creativity. Prizes will be awarded to the first three teams that make it to the finish mat and additional prizes will be given to teams that have the best costumes and take the most creative photographs – so bring your A-game to the starting line!

Recruit a team of four or apply as a free agent and we’ll place you on a team. More details will be sent to teams prior to the event, but come prepared to exercise your NYC knowledge chops, capture Instagram-worthy photos, and create unforgettable memories. The award ceremony will be hosted at a nearby bar where you can relax, chat with other teams and reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail. For any additional questions or concerns, please email jordan.hu@tap-ny.org.

Not interested in competing, but still want to join in on the fun? We are looking for several dedicated volunteers to help make this event run as smoothly as possible. Please reserve a volunteer ticket and if contacted, we will reach out to you with more details.

Note: None of the challenges will have any physical limitations. We welcome everybody to just come out and have fun in this bonding experience – you do not have to be Taiwanese American to compete or attend any of our events.

Ho Foods (http://hofoodsnyc.com/)

Ho Foods brings home-style and modernized Taiwanese food to the East Village. Inspired by chef/owner Richard Ho’s Taiwanese roots, the restaurant pays homage to classic flavors and techniques by way of San Gabriel Valley, California, the “mecca of Taiwanese food in America.”

Kiss Tea (https://www.kisstea.love)

Kiss Tea makes a line of cold brew teas specially designed to take care of your love life. Broken heart? Saw your ex with someone else? Just made out with a new crush? Been together for ten years? – now there is a tea for all the twists and turns of your relationship(s). Kiss Tea is less expensive and far more pleasant than your therapist.

Sweet Nova (https://www.sweetnova.com)

Sweet Nova makes delicious superfood smoothies transformed into a spoonable, freezable, grab-and-go snack boost–no blender required. Our smoothie freezes are dairy-free and only use whole, plant-based ingredients that we can pronounce…resulting in a refreshing, satiating, all-natural snack boost that can power you throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in-between).

Yaya Tea (https://www.yayatea.com)

Yaya Tea is a café that takes bubble tea to another level by specializing in freshly brewed premium tea leaves and adding various jellies or popping boba into our drinks that burst in your mouth.

We stand out among our competitors by serving made-to-order Onigiri, also known as a Riceball. Onigiri is a popular Japanese snack that is convenient, handheld and delicious!

Zai Lai (https://www.zailainyc.com/)

Zai Lai is a casual Homestyle Taiwanese Spot serving Family Favorites including Rice Bowls, Noodles, Street Eats, and Taiwanese Breakfast. Located underground near Columbus Circle, look for entryways at the corners of 57th St and 8th Avenue.

Bar Pa Tea (https://www.barpatea.com)

Bar Pa Tea provides a menu of highly customizable drinks, allowing the customer to adjust sweetness in increments and choose whether they would prefer it hot or cold. Bar Pa Tea even offers alternatives to the traditional tapioca pearls, most notably their signature “miniature bubbles.”
