  • Parent Teacher Conferences in Chinatown – Translators Needed!

When

Thursday
November 13, 2014
4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Where

PS 124
40 Division Street, New York, NY 10002

Are you a fluent Mandarin or Cantonese speaker? Do you want to make a difference and use your language skills to help translate during parent teacher conferences at a public school in the heart of Chinatown? Together with Apex for Youth, TAP is looking for volunteers to help break language barriers and help to foster strong families and school partnerships.

Volunteers will be asked to assist in translating teacher comments and asking questions on behalf of parents. Many of the families you’ll be working with are immigrants and are not native English speakers, so the time and skills of volunteers is essential.

If you are interested, please email Betty (TAP Community Service Chair) at betty.wang@tap-ny.org.
